--   9:40p  My keyboard was messing up again and this time I started experimenting
to see what various key did.  Then I did a search on the [esc] key acting like [logo]
key, and it revealed that [ctrl]+[esc] is an alternate way to bring up the Start menu.
So, it seemed that the [ctrl] key was stuck.  Hitting it several times seems to have fixed it.
