Touchpad scrolling has been sluggish along with keyboard input.  I did some searching and
one article mentioned power adapter wattage.  I realized that my power cord had gotten caught
by something and pulled it tight.  I figured that that might have allowed the system to become
confused about adapter wattage and that tends to slow it down.  I unplugged the power cord
and then plugged it back in and that seems to have fixed it!  Now, did I just jinx it?

the program and created a new file and saved it.  I closed the program and
reloaded the file and it worked.  Then I opened an older file and it worked.
It didn't seem to be accessing the CD drive, so I disconnected it and

feel a little hesitant.

However, I was waiting a long time for the check.  My waitress seemed to

Also installed scanner;  It was able to scan 1st page but hung up on the
2nd page.  It seems that the USB connection had trouble.  It's a USB 3 port
but the scanner is probably USB 2.  It's supposed to be backwards compatible
but that's NOT guaranteed.  But after unplugging and replugging, it finally
worked.  But it's difficult to tell if I can expect it to work reliably.
Is the old scanner somewhat incompatible, or is there a problem with the USB port?

when I tried to load a map file it said the a removable drive or a networks share

In the original, 20 years ago, the parents died, but in this version, the
family is Hispanic and the parents have been deported back to Mexico.
The location has moved from SF to LA.  The names have changed but the genders haven't.
The ages are about the same, but the teens are fraternal twins.
~~  Other recent reboots, like "Roswell" and "Charmed", have also switched
to Hispanic characters, so I wonder how many more are going to follow this pattern.
~~  They say that the family has no relatives in US, but the parents have lived here
for 23 years.  It seems odd that there don't seem to be any adult friends of theirs
who can help.  This was also true in the original series.  But it this one, the
parents are available by phone.  They're not true orphans.

Meanwhile, Trump wants me to renew my Sustaining Membership before midnight.  He's trying to trick me into thinking that I previously had one.  The e-mail said the status is "expired".

I was wondering what was going up at 63rd & Cass in Westmont and now I know
that it's a Raising Cane's.  I ate at the one in Naperville on a bike ride and
now it seems that that was a partial waste of effort.  And, the further
disappointment is that the place isn't anything special, so the new one is
a non-event.   AND, while looking up information on this one, I found that
there will also be one in Glen Ellyn (where the Arby's used to be).  But
I'm fine with the chicken nuggets at BK, which is also a lot closer.
