When I looked at the weather earlier there was no rain in forecast but it's started to rain.

-- 2:55p Leaving to bike in brutal heat before it starts raining.
-- 3:18p After biking 3 mi, sitting in garage with drizzle staring and
lightning in the distance. A min later, it started pouring, but it only lasted 5 mins.
It wasn't too bad biking because it was cloudy.

-- 6:00p Leaving to get dinner @MdDonald's: McChicken meal deal.
I was going to go to BK for their Wed Whopper but changed my mind.
However, I thought the McD meal deal had a burger on it, but it seems that they only have
burgers on the extra priced ones with lettuce & tomato now.
-- 6:35p Arrived 5 mins late for Homeowners' meeting to discuss proposed
large special assessment. Almost everyone else (of those who would ultimately attend)
were already there. Apparently, it was NOT a special meeting just to discuss this issue.
It was a regular board meeting, although they managed to dispense with everything else in 15 mins.
~~ People were not quite as upset as I expected them to be, but those who were a bit upset
didn't get good answers from the property manager, who managed to deflect everything.
~~ It was crowded (because the room is small) and there was no air conditioning.
I and only one other person was wearing a mask.
At least the rain that occurred earlier had cooled things down a bit. And, luckily,
it wasn't storming during the meeting.
~~ I spoke twice. I sarcastically pointed out that none of our units are selling because
prospective buyers see how bad everything is. (A unit sold just last week -- and the
realtor is on the board.) The property manager's response was nonsensical so I can't
ever remember what he said.
~~ Second, he was calling the full list "the laundry list", but when they were taking
things off (such as remodeling the pool house), I said that you don't take things off the
laundry list, you move selected items to the to-do list. He said that was just semantics
but it wasn't -- because some people were expressing that they might want it considered after
it's more fully developed by explaining specifically what improvements are under consideration.
-- 8:49p Inside after biking 4 mi with neighbor (and successfully met steps goal)
-- 9:07p "Big Brother" [90 mins]
-- 9:19p - 9:34p Immediate neighbor called to complain about the meeting --
even though he's on the board.
