>>> 11:53a "Tell Me Lies" (09/07/22 on Hulu) (Metacritic: 65, 30-(58-80), #8)
Portrays the 8-year relationship between Lucy and Stephen that becomes more toxic over the years.
It starts with her freshman year in college.
Adaptation of Carola Lovering's novel of the same name.
~~ She meets her college roommate -- they both have 4-letter first names ending in "cy".
In the book and series, they lived 10 mi apart on Long Island but, in the book, they both
wound up at a college in So California. In the show, it's in NY an hour or 2 north of Manhattan.
In the book, Lucy has an eating disorder, but not in the show. In the book her dad is
alive but he's dead on the show. Apparently, there are a bunch of other differences.
~~ It's starts the week before classes start, but I have the impression that the
lack of having to pay attention to schoolwork will continue even after school starts.
~~ I expect to keep watching.
>>> 2:09p "Reboot" (09/20/22 on Hulu) (Metacritic: 71, 30-(58-80), #8)
Follows an early 2000s family sitcom that Hulu has rebooted and their dysfunctional cast
that must deal with their unresolved issues in today's fast-changing world.
~~ Most favorable review says: "The chemistry among the cast members pushes this series from good to exceptionally funny in an endearing, dysfunctional sort of way. They capture the absurdity of rebooting a show that has no business returning and turn that disaster into great comedy in the process."
~~ I expect to keep watching.

>>> 6:09p "Normal People" (04/29/22 on Hulu) (Metacritic: 83, 40-100, #25)
Set in Ireland, shows the complicated relationship between the wealthy bur lonely Marianne and the son of her family's house cleaner,
begins in secret as teenagers but everything changes once at Trinity College.
Based on Sally Rooney's novel of the same name.
~~ Harshest critic said that fails because it lacks much of the details of the book but
most favorable review said, "It’s a triumph in every way, from acting and direction to script".
~~ Her brother is giving her a ride to school, but he gets a call that a friend needs a ride.
He tells her to walk the rest of the way -- even though it's pouring rain. She knew it was
raining. Even though she was getting a ride, it seems odd that she'd have neither a
raincoat nor an umbrella. She's supposed to be a very smart girl.
~~ I expect to keep watching.
-- 7:49p "60 Minutes"
>>> 8:58p "Nine Perfect Strangers" (08/18/21 on Hulu) (Metacritic: 54, 25-94, #35)
Nine people attend a 10-day retreat at a health and wellness resort.
Based on Liane Moriarty's novel of the same name.
~~ Most favorable review says that it, "excels in balancing its incredible ensemble cast. Every performance in the series is well-acted and thoroughly engaging. ... Nine Perfect Strangers edges out 'The White Lotus', particularly in the writing of its characters, providing more depth and a far more compelling group of individuals."
A less favorable review says, "The individual performances are fun and lively enough to frequently cover up how hollow the whole endeavor feels."
~~ There is an actress whose last name is Kedzie. My cousin used to live on Kedzie, as did I, and my
father grew on on the street, but I don't think I ever heard of someone with that last name.
So, Google says it was named after John H. Kedzie, an early Chicago real-estate developer.
~~ Grace Van Patten is in this and is lead in "Normal People" which I watched earlier.
~~ I expect to keep watching but I'm not sure it will be worth it.
>>> 11:01p "This Way Up" (08/08/19) (Metacritic: 78, 63-100, #8)
A young Irish woman who teaches English as a 2nd language puts her life back together after suffering from a nervous breakdown.
~~ It's hard to tell if this is worth watching.
