Tried to update text file that contains 3.5 years of my blog and the editor failed, saying it ran

out of memory.  I rebooted and it happened again.

Ran Support Assist to check if laptop is OK.  It didn't report any problem, but when I tried to

update a driver, it failed, but didn't give any details.

--   8:32p  Finished working to repair blog file from backup folder.  

It didn't complain about the size of the backup file.

I'm hoping that the laptop is OK, and somehow the blog file got corrupted because it was 

open when a "common" system crash happened earlier.
