It was sunny when I started eating on the patio at the restaurant but then it started getting dark

and I was afraid I wouldn't get home in time, but it had cleared up by time I got home.

I thought I got a spider bite and then another and another.  Then on the NextDoor app,

somone posted something from the U of MD Extension that is blaming Oak Leaf Itch Mites

and attributes the increased number of them to their feeding on Periodical Cicada eggs.

~~  If this is what's causing my problem, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot I can do

about them until they go away in a month.  I don't know if I'll have any skin left by then.
