Also drove to car dealership to ask their opinion about my rear-end damage.

But, before I pulled in, I saw I sign that said "Body shop" pointing to the back,

so I went there.  It turns out that they are independent but have been there since

before I bought my previous car at the dealership in the front.

~~  After, I did go into the dealership's service dept and they said there's nothing

complicated in the area where the car was damaged, so there doesn't seem to be any 

need to rush.  They had no reason for me not to take it the the place in the back

and had no other recommendations.  

~~ The body shop implied it would take at least 10 days to fix it, but I'm

assuming it could take a lot longer because they'd just be sitting there

waiting for parts. It seems that they'd be replacing the whole lift gate

-- not just pounding out the dents.

They are NOT BBB accredited, but have an A+ rating because there have been

no complaints through the BBB.  Google has 4.4 stars out of 5.  There are few bad

review out of 69.  Yelp has 3.5/5 with 24 reviews.  

~~ It seems that there are 5 steps. First, how long will it take before

they can provide the estimate to the insurance company (so that also

includes time that it's just sitting there waiting for them to get to

it). Time it takes for the insurance company to process that. Time for

parts to arrive. Time to wait until they can get to starting the repair.

And then time to do the repair.

which I put in the fridge for tomorrow.

She sent the assignment to the auto body shop, so I need to call the shop tomorrow

to find out when I should bring it in for a 10-15 min inspection.
