VT:  There was an empty lot next to a seafood restaurant.
The seafood restaurant went out of business.
They started building a Dunkin Donut in the empty lot, but, before it was
completed, the old seafood place became a family-owned donut place without
knowing that the construction next door was going to be a Dunkin.  After
a couple years operating in tandem the Dunkin closed.
