A quirky kind of science fiction fever dream in which four 'normal' people are pulled into a world of magic, technology, and philosophy.
~~  We are introduced to a guy and we're told that every [work] day is pretty much the same
except when he stops at bodega to pickup dinner, it's usually packaged sushi but might be
a burrito or ramen instead.  But then, on this day, after seeing a flyer on a light post strange
things start happening, as if it triggered a strange memory of participating in an
experiment -- or is it a vision of an experiment he'll sign-up for?
~~  He sees a psychiatrist -- because it's free -- part of his medical benefits at work.
It's unclear how many sessions he's had before the shrink asked him why he comes.

~~  It seems to be based on a alternate reality game played from 2008-2011 in San Francisco

that had 10K people playing without ever quite knowing what they were involved in.

There was a 2013 documentary about it and this show is based on that.
