~~ One description calls it a profoundly realistic family sitcom, but it's not
realistic at all. It's constantly frantic and generally ridiculous.
~~ There is always a problem with a pilot episode. We are plopped down in the
middle of their lives, but we have to wonder, what were they doing last month?
In other words, why are they portraying their problems as new or unexpected
(from their point of view)?
~~ I expect to keep watching, even though I probably shouldn't.
>>> 9:44p "Brave New World" (07/15/20)
Based on the book. I think I saw the 1980 TV movie. I know I saw SOME version.
I don't remember many details, aside from the happiness drug called soma, so I don't
know how much the new version departs from that one.
~~ This is streaming on Peacock, so I have to watch it on a device. I watched on my
laptop. I may watch future episodes on my tablet.
~~ It's a bit confusing about what they are portraying. We haven't yet been told how
long the utopia has been going and why it's now having trouble.
~~ I'll probably keep watching, but I'm not sure why.
