problem -- they just wanted to know the app version number which I neglected to mention.

I was going on and on about the problem, but it seems that they weren't ready to 

deal with it today.

--   4:31p  Finished call with AT&T to cancel repair ticket.  It happens so often that

they find the problem outside of the house but fail to mark the problem as solved.

I tried to find ticket status online and it said there were no tickets associated with

my number, but they also implied that that could be caused by cookies on my computer or

maybe THEY were having trouble with their system, so I called and finally got through

to a human who confirmed that there WAS an open ticket.  He ran a test and determined

that my line was working, but he wasn't able to say that their records indicated that

a specific problem was found and corrected.  Regardless, I had him cancel the ticket

since my phone seems to be working now.
