I don't know why the newscasters can't hear what they're saying.

They said there is a small asteroid approaching Earth and it could be one of the closest 

asteroid encounters but there is no risk of it hitting the planet.  But then the next

sentence says it's set to HIT the southern tip of South American this evening.  And then

they say it will turn into a fireball and disintegrate in the atmosphere and the debris

will most likely becomes small meteorites.
