If you just wanted to get across the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore before

the collapse, it was 4 mi and would take 6 mins.  The next way is 23 mi and would

take 43 mins, although Google Maps says that route is ALSO closed.

However, there is a 18 mi route for bikes.  However, in general, few people need

to simply get from one side of the bridge to the other.
