-- 12:15p  Leaving to drive to 57 mi to Hobart, IN, to bike to Chesterton with Carla

She had biked there from Foster Ave beach and will be biking to Michigan

after spending a night in Chesterton and a night in South Bend.

~~  Last summer, I had planned to bike from Hobart east, but some teens

convinced me to go west instead.

--   2:05p  After horrible traffic on I-80, arrived very close to Trailblazers Bike Barn, 

where I was to meet Carla but the street was blocked for construction.

--   2:15p  Arrived @Trailblazers after parking at a gas station and walking.

Apparently, there was some secret way of getting into the Trailblazers parking lot, 

but I couldn't find it.  But Carla hadn't arrived yet.

~~  At some point, Naomi & Owen arrived.  Carla hadn't told me they were coming (because I hadn't asked).

And then Carla arrived.

--   3:32p  Started biking NE with Carla.

--   4:50p  After biking 12 mi, said goodbye to Carla and arrived @McD on Indian Boundary Road in Chesterton where I got free fries with purchased Coke.

--   5:13p  Started biking back. and continued past starting point into downtown Hobart.

--   6:54p  Arrived back at car.  Total ride back: 16 mi  (Total 34 mi today)

--   7:21p  Arrived for dinner @BC Osaka Japanese Buffet in Merrillville 

--   8:25p  Started heading home.  Traffic was much better.

--   9:25p  Home, just in time to watch 12 mins of fireworks (through trees) at country club.
