I wanted to have Google Assistant on my phone set an alarm (by verbally asking it to do so).

For months, every time I used Google Assistant it tried to convince me to try Gemini instead,

but when I did a search, it said that setting an alarm was one of the things that

Gemini couldn't do -- which seemed to be a very strange shortcoming -- and I didn't

see any explanation of why such an ability would be lacking.  However, today it made the

switch for me without asking and it seems that Gemini was able to set the alarm.

Meanwhile, I don't know if I'm losing anything by switching to Gemini.

The news had just ended, but a min into the show, a weather alert preempted it,

because they couldn't just superimpose it.  It was only for extreme southern part

of LaPorte Co.  They can watch CBS from South Bend!
