Premieres
-- Unicorn, The
- A widower with two daughters reluctantly begins dating and discovers he is very popular.
- They're still living off neighbors’ frozen lasagnas and casseroles nearly a year after his wife’s death. (How big is his freezer?)
- The first response he got from online dating site was a Jennifer.
- It's kind of silly but I expect to keep watching.
-- Perfect Harmony
- About a competitive church choir that accepts help from a former music professor.
- He came to the small KY town because his wife just died and it was her hometown.
- It's unclear why the choir enters competitions -- since they're so bad. But they magically improve after a little bit of coaching from the professor.
- It's silly, but the characters are likable enough. I expect to keep watching.
- I assume it will be more about the quirky town because the choir has already improved.
-- Carol’s Second Act
- Newly divorced woman retires from teaching and begins pursuing her dream to become a doctor.
- Her daughter's name is Jenny.
- I expected this show to be better. I'll give it a chance, but I suspect there is nowhere for this show to go.
-- Sunnyside
- Disgraced NYC Councilman is living with his sister and feeling sorry for himself until a group of people seek his help in helping them become American citizens. They wrongly assumed he had connections that would help them get in without an effort. He leads them on because they are willing to pay him.
- The title refers to a neighborhood in Queens.
- I don't get this show. I will probably watch to see where it's going but I doubt that it's going anywhere.
-- Evil
- A skeptic and a true believer team up to investigate supposed paranormal activity, which, of course, sounds like a description of "The X-Files". Instead of working for the FBI, they're working for the Catholic Church.
- It's very well done and I expect to keep watching.
