I noticed on Monday that Xfinity Watchathon was coming up, but it didn't say when.
I just noticed that it started yesterday, so I missed a whole day.

>>> 11:01a  "The Nevers" (04/11/21)  (Metacritic: 58, 30-90, #24)
This HBO Max show was promoted on the Watchathon, but I never heard of it.
There are only 3 episode so far, and I should be able to watch the 4th on Sunday,
but I won't be able to see the rest of the season.
~~  It takes place in Victorian times and involves women with supernatural powers.
There is no dialog in first 3 mins.  We see people doing Victorian things, and
then they all seem to see something in the sky, but we don't get to see it.
And then it jumps ahead 3 years, where we see the same people doing more
Victorian things for a couple more mins without dialog.  But then we see a
boy selling newspapers.  The headline is about a 5th victim of a serial killer.
~~  The show was created by they guy who created "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and
"Firefly", but then was removed from this show.  He claimed exhaustion from
producing a show during pandemic.
~~  No is called "The Nevers" in the show.  Instead, they are referred to as
"The Touched" and their powers are referred to as "turns".  Everyone has a
unique turn, which is similar to mutant powers in "X-Men".  In the later, I'm
not aware of the reason why anyone has a particular power, but in this show,
it seems related to an existing personality trait.

The snow finally melted near my house by April 8, but there's one in Palatine
that is still pretty big.  They were both adjacent to parking structures.
