Premieres
-- All American
- A South Crenshaw High football player is recruited to play at Beverly Hills High even though recruiting is against the rules. His now-single mom is a courthouse clerk.
- Harsh critic says there's "no authenticity". Kinder critic says, "It’s a well-made teen drama pilot." Everyone seems to like the cast.
- They briefly mention that he was allowed to transfer on an "academic permit". It's unclear how that so easily skirts the rules. The mom has a job but we don't know how much it pays. We know that they are poor -- she wasn't able to pay the gas bill. He has nice headphones, but not a computer. It seems strange that the coach's son is conveniently the team captain.
- I will record it, but I'm not sure if I'll keep watching.
