It's a new game show that I don't plan to watch but I wanted to see what it's like.
It starts with 81 players on a 9 x 9 grid.  They each supposedly have expertise in a
particular trivia category.  When they are chosen, they must pick a neighbor to challenge.
They are chosen by "the randomizer".
The winner of the challenge takes control of the neighbor's "floor".
The winner gets $250K at the end of the season.  7 will be eliminated tonight.
Hosted by Rob Lowe.
~~  The first chosen is an expert on veggies.  There are only 4 neighbors.  In other words,
diagonals don't count.  Apparently, you want to pick someone who claims expertise
but is NOT an expert.  Maybe that means the producers picked a category for them?
She challenges someone whose claimed expertise is tools.
~~  Note: The first 2 happen to be black women.
~~  Each has 45 seconds to identify a picture.  No penalty for getting it wrong.
You can say "pass" but you lose 3 seconds.  If you get it right, your clock stops
and the opponent's clock starts.  When your clock runs out, you are out.
So, it took 7 mins to get to the actual game.
~~  The back and forth makes it hard to follow, but all you have to do is wait 90 seconds
and you find out who won without having to pay attention to what they were doing.
~~  If you win, you then inherit the category of the other person, so you didn't claim
to be an expert in that.  You can choose to keep playing or go back to the floor.
I'm not sure how to determine what is the best thing to do.  Probably going back to
the floor is best.  It seems that the strategy would be to avoid playing and let
everyone else lose.
~~  When you've gotten a 2nd square, diagonals still don't count bout you have
more neighbor.  Each night, whoever has the most territory gets $20K.  They didn't
mention ties.
~~  It was a little easier to follow the 2nd time because the other person was male
so you could hear the voices change as they go back and forth.  Note: they were still both black.
~~  If someone is on the edge of the board, they don't have 4 choices.  It doesn't wrap around.
~~  After a few picture-based challenges, a category was songs, so they're shown the
title with a missing word.
~~  I don't know if there is a Jen, but Josh said his wife is Jen, and then he played against Jasper.
